My mom removed the carpet from the stairs, didn't care what was underneath it all she cared about was ripping it all out...she was getting sick of seeing the same carpet. Well the stairs were not in great shape, and she did not want to redo the stairs now so I offered to do a little makeover so the stairs could be nice enough where whenever she walked up the stairs she wouldn't cringe. I found this great adhesive paper at the dollar store, it only cost $2 a roll and it was easy to apply, no water no mess...just the sticky back.
UPDATE:
My mom has refinished the stairs and all the flooring in the house, she didn't get the back of the stairs finished because she loves how paper looks, so I removed the paper to apply a better quality wallpaper, so check back in a few days for the new pics!

thank you so much... I have actually changed the paper, this was shelf paper and it was just temporary... I have bought some really good wallpaper and finished it off after the stairs were stained. I will upload pictures soon.
